Richmond Hill, Vaughan and Markham Townships. A village on Yonge Street

16 miles from Toronto. First settled in 1818 by Mr. David Bridgford. The

York Herald, an excellent weeklisy paper is published here by Mr. A. Scott.

There is a grammar school in the village. Population about 1000.
