Thomas Wilkie

The Wilkie family was founded in Canada by Thomas Wilkie, who came out from Scotland in 1833, to Richmond Hill. His son John, was a veterinary surgeon, and also, carried on a blacksmithing business in Richmond Hill. His son Thomas J. Wilkie became the secretary of the Y.M.C.A. in Toronto, and his efforts on its behalf helped to make it the fine organization it is to-day.
